Change Color Of Your Name

At the character selection screen where you enter your name, type one of the below for different colored letters:
$0 = Black
$1 = White
$2 = Blue
$3 = Green
$4 = Red
$5 = Light Blue
$6 = Yellow
$7 = Pink
$8 = Orange
$9 = Gray

Change profile name and keep saved files

Use the following trick to get all your saved data transferred to a new folder with whatever name desired. Locate and enter the 'ubisoftcrytekfar cryprofilesplayer' folder. This will take you to the profiles found in the game. Find the folder that contains the name that you want to change, and open it. Highlight items inside, including folder, game.cfg file and [name]_profile_placeholder.txt text document. Copy those items and go back to the previous folder. In this screen, right click in an empty area of the screen, highlight 'New' and click 'Folder' (or use the File/New/Folder menu command). This will create a new folder. Rename the folder to your desired name. Open the new folder and paste the files previously copied. Go back to the previous screen. Copy File [name]_game.cfg and paste in the same screen, then rename the file you just pasted on the screen. Note: Make sure the filename has the same capitalization as the folder you renamed earlier. The file must be in following format, [desired name]_game.cfg. In the same screen copy file [name]_system.cfg and paste in same screen. Rename the file to desired name following this format, [desired name]_system.cfg. Make sure the letters .cfg file extension is included, including the period. Do not erase anything. Play game and make sure it works.

Cheat Mode

Press ~ to display the console window. Then, enter one of the following codes to activate the corresponding cheat function.

Cheat mode (demo version)

Get different weapons

If you have downloaded the enabled devmode file, open the 'devmode.lua' file with a text editor. Look for a line that reads 'function AllWeapons()'. Underneath it there are lines that read 'AddWeapon('[weapon name]');'. For example, to get the mutant shotgun edit a line so it says AddWeapon('MutantShotgun');. Note: If you put a weapon that you normally cannot get in the game you will not be able to see it when you pull it up but, you still can shoot it. You may need to use the '999 ammunition' code for ammunition for that weapon.

God Mode

Open devmode.lua in the Far Cry directory and add the following code to the bottom:

Then, start the game with the -devmode switch and open the console with the ` key. Type in: #GodMode() and you'll have 99999 health and armor. The normal maximum is 255.
Saving or loading a game will reset the values, though.

Manual Save

It's easy to save anywhere in the game. Just open the console (~ key) and type save_game. If you can bind the command to an unused key, you will be able to quicksave any time with a press of the button. You may otherwise just type in the command normally each time you want to save. Add -DEVMODE to the end of the executable command line if the save command is not working.

No damage (demo version)

Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the 'gamerules.lua' file in the '/farcrydemo/scripts/default' folder. Find the following line.
'ai_to_player_damage = 1, 1, 1, 0.5, 0.5, 0.5'
and change it to :
'ai_to_player_damage = 0, 0, 0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0'

Rally Pigs

If you park a buggy in an unsafe spot, such as on a flight of stairs in the Fort level, eventually a pig will get in and drive it back to the road and park it. Be careful, the pig will run you over if you get in the way.

Volcano: Defeating the mercenaries

At the end of the last level, if you are having problems with the final group of mercs protecting Doyle at the top of the stabilizer, the following is an easy way to deal with them. Slowly approach the ramp until you hear the radio chatter confirming they have spawned in above you. Then, back off and look up for the large fuel tanks. You cannot see them, but the mercs are gathered around and behind these tanks. Scatter throw all of your grenades at the tanks. You should have killed or wounded almost all of the mercs, leaving just one or two to deal with upstairs.

Alien reference

Play the 'Desperately Saving Susan' Nerd Rescue and go to coordinates X: 479.1, Y: 488.3 to find a Xenomorph egg from Alien behind the nerd you are saving. Note: Michael Biehn, who voices the main character, was also a cast member in Aliens.

When you need to distract an enemy, you can throw a twenty sided dice at them.

Easy 'Just The Tip' achievement

Find an enemy garrison. Disable its barrier inside and try to keep some soldiers still alive. Use cyber hearts to get a Blood Dragon into the base. Allow the remaining soldiers and Blood Dragon to fight each other. While they are fighting each other, get ammunition, health, and other supplies from the garrison's vending machine. After the Blood Dragon has killed all the enemy soldiers, it's health should be knocked down a bit. Use C400 and grenades to whittle down the Blood Dragon's health some more. Use the structures in the garrison to block its beam attack. If needed, get more health from the vending machine. When the the Blood Dragon's health is brought down to just a sliver, switch to the bow. Be patient and wait for the dragon to rear back and fire an arrow into its chest. Repeat the process until its dead.

Far Cry 3 reference

Swim underwater at coordinates X: 531.2, Y: 321.5 to find a scientist next to a toilet, similar to the seasick soldier found in Far Cry 3.

Hobo with a Shotgun Reference

The 80s movie, Hobo with a Shotgun, was an inspiration for this game's creative director, and is referenced by the Summon the Plague! mission title.

Infinite Ammo and God Mode

Go into the game's folder and find the .exe file. Create a shortcut of the file, then right click the shortcut and click 'Properties' Find the target line and go all the way to the end, past the end quote, create one space after the quote and type -GameProfile_GodMode 1 and -GameProfile_UnlimitedAmmo 1. Make sure there is a space between the two cheat inputs. Now if you have not already, launch the game, you do not need to play it. Then go to C:/ My Documents/My games/Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon and find the GameProfile.XML file. Right click it and select properties. Make sure the box marked Read Only is checked, then click apply and okay. Now, launch the game with the shortcut you made, and you should be able to play it with your cheats. Note: The game may have trouble launching. For example, it may open Uplay but may not launch the game via the short cut. Right click it and click 'Run As Administrator' And it should launch.

Middle finger

You can give people the middle finger if you hold [Melee]. You can also press it multiple times to use both hands.

Predator References

If you ever saw the movie Predator, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers (among others), you witnessed one of cinema's most famous handshakes. You can witness it again here, in 16-bit form, during the first five minutes or so of play. There's another reference to the film, as well. During the chopper assault sequence, pay attention to the song that plays. It is Long Tall Sally, performed by Little Richard. You might recognize it from the moment in the movie when the commando team heads into the jungle.

RoboCop Reference

The pistol that Rex carries bears a striking resemblence to the weapon used by RoboCop in the old action movies. Its burst-fire function in particular shows that connection. There are other nods to the film, as well. The weapon's description notes that it 'was built and named in honor of a fallen DPD cop who fell in the line of duty fighting the creeps of the Detroit megaslums and industrial wastelands.' The weapon is called the A.J.M. 9, in reference to RoboCop's name: Alex J. Murphy.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Head to the coordinates X:519.9, Y:365.6, where you will find a garrison and the Predator's Path quest. Your goal is to kill turtles that have been befriending rats in the nearby sewers. When you find the turtles, you will see that their faces are painted hues similar to the headbands worn by the famous turtles from the comics and cartoons. Cheats

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reference

During one of the Predator missions, Rex must kill four turtles in the sewers. You can find a pizza box in the sewers and each of the turtles are wearing colored ninja masks.

Terminator 2 References

You will find the Galleria 1991 shotgun on your adventure, and that is a reference to the movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day. In the film, there is a shootout in the Galleria mall, and the movie was originally released in 1991. Also, the Cyber-Eye ability takes on an appearance similar to the scan performed by the Terminator in the movie.
